Controller

Full Time – OMAHA, NE

The controller is a key member of the Finance Team and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the financial operations of the company. The Controller demonstrates attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic business environment. The Controller complies, acts, and enforces with confidentiality and ethical Finance behaviors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Directs and prepares financial analyses of operations for guidance of management

  • Supervision of cash management, accounts, and monthly timely reconciliation of all bank accounts with immediate reporting responsibility of any reconciling differences

  • Responsibility for implementing and maintaining Finance policies and procedures that comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and industry standards

  • Management of general ledger activities, including all postings to accurately reflect the financial condition of the company according to GAAP

  • Responsible for variance analysis and for providing timely reporting for monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting

  • Lead monthly management review meetings

  • Management of Accounts Payable including review of all payment activity to ensure that established policies and procedures are adhered to

  • Responsible for designing and implementing appropriate internal controls and for safeguarding company assets

  • Responsible for proper implementation of revenue recognition policies

  • Participates in the development of those revenue recognition policies

  • Management of Accounts Receivable and billing processes

  • Management of corporate governance processes, working closely with Legal to ensure the timely completion of various business, tax and regulatory filings

  • Maintains a detailed understanding of operational systems that support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities

  • Participates in process development of specifications for current and new products in order to ensure proper interface with the accounting system

  • Assist with 401k processing and funding, insurance and other benefit matters with Human Resources

  • Assist with stock option administration and valuations

  • Manage year-end financial planning and preparation for the year-end audit, and provide all necessary schedules for the outside tax preparers

  • Manage, mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals to excel in their roles

  • Assist the CFO with various projects, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and other projects regarding the operations of the Company

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, CPA (preferred)

  • Start-up experience required

  • Experience in a successful, rapid growth environment preferred

  • Internet consumer products experience preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant accounting experience

  • Knowledge of GAAP and FASB policies relevant to internet firms, including skills in research and documentation for new trends or policies

  • Good understanding of cost accounting

  • Ability to multi-task and to contribute at multiple levels ranging from transaction entry to preparation of financials summaries for the Board of Advisors

  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to learn quickly, work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Strong desire for continuous improvement

  • Prior experience with Quickbooks and Zuora preferred
